Wine review of 2005

As 2005 is now history, everyone go with their review of the year. So I made a review of my own on the world of wine.

- It was the 150th anniversary of the Bordeaux wine classification

- Sales of great vintages of Bordeaux 2004 slowed down. Let's hope that they will catch the signal and realize that they are not the only one in the worlds who make great wines. Are we going to be able to buy Bordeaux at cheaper price in 2006? Let's hope so.

- In France, wine crisis causes causes many demonstrations, protests, and riots

- Robert Mondavi's empire is swallowed by the giant Constellation

- In Australia, Foster takes control of Southcorp and becomes an industry tycoon

- In Quebec as in France, rosé wines are more popular than ever. That makes me think that I should suggest a couple of rosé ;-)

- The popularity of the movie Sideways raises the sales of Pinot Noir in the United States and worries the Merlot producers. And people say they are not affected by marketing and publicity... pffff ;-)))

- Georges Duboeuf and the Frescobaldi family are investigated for illegal practices.
